After Brandon Steven was eliminated early Sunday morning at the World Series of Poker Main Event, the final table was set.
Now the remaining nine players will have to wait more than three months before returning to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on November 6th.
The marathon tournament that once had more than 7,300 hopefuls vying for the $8.9 million grand prize is now down to the “November Nine.”
The biggest name left in the draw is Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi.
Mizrachi is playing some of the finest poker of his career. The Grinder won a $50,000 buy-in mixed game tournament at the WSOP earlier this summer.
On Saturday, he battled back from just 3.21 million chips to end the day with 16.8 million chips; the table sixth largest stack.
Jonathan Duhamel will head to November as the chip leader. The Canadian born player is a virtual unknown in the states; however, he has made quite a name for himself overseas in the Europe Poker Tour.
The final table looks like this:
Jonathan Duhamel – 55,375,000
John Dolan – 45,300,000
Joseph Cheong – 23,700,000
John Racener – 21,100,000
Filippo Candio – 19,850,000
Michael Mizrachi – 16,800,000
Soi Nguyen – 9,800,000
Matthew Jarvis – 9,625,000
Jason Senti – 8,475,000
