On Tuesday morning, three bidders submitted proposals to build a state-owned casino in Sumner County, Kansas.
Global Gaming Solutions LLC, Peninsula Gaming Partners LLC, and Harrah’s Sumner Investment LLC all presented plans to the Sumner County Board of County Commissioners to develop the gambling hall in south-central Kansas.
Peninsula’s plan includes a $300 million investment featuring 1,500 slot machines and 10 poker tables on the casino floor, a 150-room hotel and an equestrian event center. They estimate operations to begin in November of 2011 and they see about $32 million gaming tax receipts.
Global Gaming, a subsidiary of Chickasaw Tribal Nation, is looking at a $255 million investment set to include a 260,000 square foot facility with some 1,300 electronic games, 40 blackjack tables, 20 poker tables. The site would also feature an 80-room hotel, bars and restaurants along with a entertainment and events center.
The Harrah’s plan calls for a, $260 million, 260 acre, casino resort. Their proposal features a casino entertainment complex that would include 1,750 slot machines, 50 table games, 100 hotel rooms, and multiple food and beverage options.
The commission is expected to decide by August 17th which (if any) of these options is worth endorsing.
