An out of control gambler has cost Harrah’s Entertainment $250,000.
This week Nevada regulators proposed that the Las Vegas Caesars Palace casino be fined for failing to have security handle an unidentified patron who reportedly climbed on top of a high limit baccarat table at least three times during a 45 minute period.
Witnesses said that the man even placed wagers while on top of the table.
Casino officials admitted to the incident and have agreed that the casino would pay the proposed fine as a settlement that would prevent future litigation on the 2009 incident.
The settlement agreement was signed on Wednesday by Gary Selesner senior vice president and general manager of Caesars Palace and senior deputy attorney General Michael Somps.
The casino board is fining Caesars Palace for “failing to take action to protect the game and the customers” which is a violation of state gaming regulations.
The settlement will be presented to the Gaming Commission for final approval.
