Proposed jet planes to get them there, private gaming areas for them to play and extravagant suites for them to stay are all part of a plan by Australia’s largest casino to pull high-stakes players back to Star City in Sydney.
Tabcorp Holdings Ltd. is set to fork-out about $146 million in extras to entice gamblers away from Macau and other Southeast Asian locations.
The upgrades will come as part of a more than $800 million, Star City, restoration. The Sydney casino will also look to win back big-time players from it’s domestic competitor in Melbourne. Crown Ltd.’s Melbourne casino recently spent about $200 million to boost their VIP facilities.
Star City hopes to build on Sydney’s reputation for being a grade-A travel destination.
The “high-roller” aspect for the restoration is just part of Star City’s refurbishment.
Additions to the casino gaming floor, new restaurants, as well as new hotel and conference facilities are all part of the deal.
