Trump Entertainment Resorts apparently will not sell the Atlantic City Trump Marina Hotel and Casino to New York based business group Coastal Marina but has enlisted help with the sale.
“Coastal is done,” Coastal Marina spokesman Jeremy Kleiman said. “They clearly have no interest in dealing with us. My honest view is that they are using us to engage the market. But we’re not going to be used like that.”
The heated response came one day after CEO Mark Juliano announced that they have hired CB Richard Ellis Global Gaming Group to help find a buyer for the casino.
In June, Trump Entertainment had reportedly reached a new deal with Coastal Marina, the third since 2008, to revive negotiations to sell the Casino for $316 million, however in Wednesday’s statement Juliano said that the offer from Coastal would still be considered.
Trump Entertainment Resorts led by bondholders since emerging from bankruptcy earlier this summer has said that the casino would be sold as part of the restructuring plan to invest in the Trump Taj Mahal and Trump Plaza.
