With Hurricane Earl churning in the Atlantic, coastal residents from Florida to Maine are keeping a close eye on the storm that many experts say could be the most intense hurricane to make a U.S. landfall since Katrina in 2004.
Currently, what is left of Hurricane Danielle is pushing off the coast of Newfoundland, Earl is bearing down on the Turks and Caicos Islands with sustained winds of 135 mph, Tropical Storm Fiona is following Earls path with winds of 40 mph and a low pressure system is coming off the coast of Africa.
With all this activity in the Atlantic, it is hard to predict who, if any one, will be effected by these storms. However, as with any topic in the headlines, there are those looking to profit from it.
Odds makers are all over the story.
Since 2004′s catastrophic hurricane season, more and more online casinos have stopped taking action on hurricanes, but some still offer their customers a chance to bet on; how strong a storm will be, where and if a particular storm will make landfall.
Some even look at betting on where a storm will hit as a way to supplement post-hurricane expenses.
