Tuesday night from the “Big A” in Anaheim, Major League Baseball’s best face-off in the 81st mid-season classic as the American League looks to make it 14 straight years without a loss.
However, it won’t be easy. Most baseball analysts agree that in this year’s installment, the National League is loaded, even for an All-Star game.
Odds makers don’t appear to have the same sentiment on this on as the American League is the favorite on most every online gambling website.
The AL is sitting at about -1.5 runs and -120 while the NL is at +1.5 and +110. The total in the game is set at 8.5 with the under at -105 and the over at -115.
The last time the American League lost was 1996, when the NL took home a 6-0 victory at Philadelphia’s Veterans Stadium. Back then, this meant little more than bragging rights among fans and fun for the players.
Today, with home field advantage in the World Series on the line, the game has a bit more of a serious tone to it.
The game will air on Fox at 8PM Eastern. Joe Buck and Tim McCarver will have the call.
