The fight for Missouri’s final gaming license is underway and in less than a week, one contender has been disqualified.
The Missouri Gaming Commission reported on September 1 that four applications had been submitted for consideration for the license. After review of the applications the Commission announced on Tuesday that the application for Sunway Gaming LLC and a proposed casino in the Kansas City suburb Sugar Creek had been disqualified.
“The commission deemed it incomplete, so the commission rejected it,” commented commission spokeswoman LeAnn McCarthy.
With the license in such high demand, the Commission has said that any incomplete applications would not be allowed to be resubmitted.
Public Input hearings will begin later this month as the Commission begins reviewing proposals to determine the winning bid.
Accepted applications were submitted by Casino Celebration LLC for St. Louis, North County Development LLC for St. Louis suburb Spanish Lake, Epic Gaming LLC also for Sugar Creek and Isle of Capri Casinos for Cape Girardeau.
