Mike Matusow is a 42-year-old three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner. However, as good as he is a the table, he will almost certainly be remembered antics.
Matusow, known as “The Mouth” is never not entertaining. So, when he made a outrageous side bet with Ted Forrest about two and a half months ago, no one was surprised.
What is surprising is that after losing, he can’t pay up.
When asked how this hole thing started, Forrest said, ”I weighed about 188 in clothes. I bet him I’d weigh under 140, and he was like, ‘No, it’s impossible.’”
It was not impossible.
Basically, Matusow bet $1 million against Forrest’s $100,000 that on the Sept. 24 date he would not weigh less than the 140 lbs and another $1 million against Forrest’s $50,000 for target date July 15.
Now, Forrest is 138 lbs and Matusow won’t pay up.
“I don’t have the $2 million to pay out,” said Matusow. “I made that bet because I didn’t think it was feasibly possible. I could pay him a big lump, but I’m going to wait six months to see if he dies first.”
