As the battle for Pennsylvania’s final category III casino license gets underway, the state’s Gaming Control Board scheduled public hearing next month for four companies hoping to win licensing.
The company chosen by regulators will be granted approval to develop and operate a resort style casino with up to 600 slot machines and a maximum of 50 table games.
Hearings will begin on August 30 for Penn Harris Gaming L.P who has proposed a casino in the Holiday Inn on Carlisle Pike just west of Harrisburg.
On August 31 Mason-Dixon Resorts LP will meet with the board to discuss developing a casino at the Eisenhower Hotel and Conference Center in Gettysburg.
The Bushkill Group proposing a casino at a resort in East Stroudsburg in the Poconos is scheduled for September 2.
Woodlands Fayette LLC proposing a casino at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, in Farmington is scheduled for September 8.
Following the public hearings, the Board will schedule licensing hearings later this year to review the applicant’s qualifications for licensing.
