From coast to coast in the United States it seems like everywhere you look there is a casino popping up, trying to offer its customers something new with its own version of the same old gambling hall.
However, there is nothing ordinary about today in the mountains of West Virginia. It is not everyday that one of the nation’s oldest and most lavish resorts goes for the glitz and glamour of Vegas-style casino gaming action.
Nestled in the tiny little town of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the Greenbrier Resort has served as a hide-a-way for our nation’s elite for almost 100 years. On Friday, the Greenbrier opened the doors to their new casino in order to give guests a truly new kind of gambling experience.
Billed as “The Casino Club at The Greenbrier,” this gaming facility is only available to overnight guests of the resort, Greenbrier Club members and limited number special invitees.
Casino Club features slots and video poker as well as table games like craps, roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker.
The casino, itself, is located underground just beneath a courtyard know for its pedestrian walkways and beautiful landscaping.
The Greenbrier once was the site of a working and top-secret, underground bunker that was meant to house the U.S. Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. Now, each evening below the Greenbrier a night of gambling will be kicked-off with a champagne toast to wish all gamers “good luck.”
