At the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania there appears to be a growing problem with gamblers leaving their children alone in their vehicles to play at the casino.
Pennsylvania gaming regulators say that the Bucks County casino must do a better job addressing this problem after five incidents have been reported this summer of parents leaving unsupervised children in cars in the casino parking lot.
The Gaming Control Board has issued the casino an official warning about the matter.
Parx officials say they are talking steps to ensure this problem does not get out of control; however, they feel that they should not have to do this alone.
While they have increased parking lot security during the gambling hall’s busiest times as well as permanently banning anyone from the casino that is caught leaving a child alone in their lot, they think local police should do their part as well.
The casino says that the more than $10 million given to the township as part of the casino deal should be enough to beef-up a police presence.
The Bensalem Public Safety Department says that law enforcement is doing all that they can do, but they can not police stupidity.
