Macau gambling operations continue to boom and the latest government reports show that tourist arrivals have grown another 18% in the first half of the year.
With such strong outcomes in the only area in the region where gambling is permitted casino operators are jumping for the chance to capitalize on the world’s fastest growing casino market.
Galaxy Gaming is currently constructing their fifth gaming property in Macau and is hoping to get ahead of the competition by speeding up construction.
While rival operator Las Vegas Sands said they would unlikely be opening their Cotai Strip expansion project on time, in late 2011because of trouble contracting enough local crews to meet the governments requirements, Galaxy Gaming said they were speeding up construction to increase the number of available rooms ready when the resort opens in early 2011.
Galaxy plans on increasing the project cost by an additional HK$800 million (US$102.8 million) and increasing the number of available rooms by 50%.
