Detroit’s largest casino, in terms of revenue, will be requiring a new President and Chief Operating Officer now that Lorenzo Creighton has resigned.
Lorenzo Creighton has held his current position with MGM Grand since April 2008 and has tended his resignation this week to join another gaming company.
It has not been made clear when Creighton will depart and MGM Resorts International, the parent company of MGM Grand, did not elaborate on the reasons behind the separation, but rumors have surfaced that Creighton will join Gateway Casinos in Vancouver.
“It was a tough decision, this is a good team here,” Creighton said. “But I’m making the right move.”
Under Creighton’s management MGM Grand has become the most profitable casino in Detroit, generating $548 million in revenues last year.
Creighton will trade in his five years as top executive for MGM to become Chief Executive Officer and part owner of Gateway Casinos, who currently operates nine gambling venues in Canada.
