With the proposal of almost any casino there is local opposition who claims that gambling brings social ills that are unwanted in the community however after the fact when most casinos are developed the community ends up being a winner.
Casinos can bring jobs to areas with high unemployment rates and add revenue to state and local coffers that often are in need of help.
In Cincinnati a planned casino soon to be developed by Rock Ventures is doing all of this and more.
The casino is the corner stone behind the city’s plan to bring a full scale entertainment district to the Broadway Commons that will even further increase the number of jobs available and profits.
A civic group known as Bridging Broadway, the University of Cincinnati Community Design Center and Cincinnati’s Planning Department are working together to conduct a study over the course of the next six months to inventory buildings near the casino site, review zoning policies and attempt to create a design for an entertainment district that would include retailers, housing and restaurants.
