Betting On The BP Oil Spill Is Easier Than You Would Think

Clean-up crews work around the clock as the BP oil spill continues to wreak havoc on the Gulf of Mexico and every day in the newspaper, the oil giant makes more and more headlines.

With the entire planet keeping a close eye on the Gulf, sportsbooks and gambling portals are cashing in on the story. No topic is safe when there is an opinion to be had and a wager to be made.

Some Internet gambling websites are even going after BP executives and Tony Hayward seems to be at the forefront.

The popular Irish gaming site, paddypower.com has gone as far as anticipating the firing of the Better Petroleum CEO by offering odds on who will be his successor.

Apparently, Iain Conn is the favorite, with the site paying just 3 to 1 if the company chooses to make him the next CEO. Seems a little odd that Conn would be expected to run the company into the future. One of his primary responsibilities right now is to oversee the Safety & Environment department.

Former English Prime Minister Tony Blair is a long shot at 100 to 1. The site is paying out even money that Hayward will still be around by the end of the year.
