Little by little U.S. President Barack Obama seems to be developing a reputation for pushing through some of the most memorable legislation the country has ever seen. The change he has been able to institute thus far in his presidency will surely make a mark in the history books.
Despite this, a new poll released this week by Fox News shows only 43 percent of the Americans polled think the president is doing a good job in office.
One year ago, a similar poll had Obama’s approval rating at 54 percent and in January of 2009, 65 percent of Americans approved of the president’s work.
Numbers like these are not encouraging. What really concerns supporters of the president is the rapid decline in Democratic support. Just 76 percent of Democrats in Fox’s poll approved of Obama.
About a year ago Barack Obama’s approval rating among Democrats was over 90 percent.
In light of these developments, the odds of Obama being re-elected are going down at sportsbooks and online casinos all over the web.
One Internet gambling website has even posted 12/1 odds that Barack Obama will not even win the Democratic nomination in 2012.
