The World Poker Tour’s Legends of Poker Event has a new champion.
Andrew Frankenberger earned $750,000 in prize money, plus a $25,000 seat into the WPT Championship by winning the tour stop at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, California.
With the victory, Frankenberger takes home his first World Poker Tour Title; however, he did come up with a World Series of Poker win that yielded him a $162,000 in cash.
Frankenberger now has over $952,000 in tournament earnings in 2010. He should be one of the names to watch on the tournament trail in the future as the New Yorker’s career may just be getting going.
He may have won, but it was not easy.
“I’d been the chip leader for so long and had an aggressive style,” said Frankenberger in an interview after the win. “Then suddenly I had to completely shift gears and play defense, and I hadn’t done that in a while.
