Last week’s news that online gambling operations bwin and PartyGaming have formed a merger to position themselves as the world’s largest internet casino company has sparked an interest in 888 Gaming.
888 is one of world’s most popular online gaming providers and runs online casino, bingo and poker sites. Some casino analysts have suggested that 888 would need to strike a similar deal in order to fully realize its potential, as more and more countries relax their gambling restrictions.
“This puts us in a position in which we are one of the best assets in the field.” says Chief Executive Gigi Levy. “Everybody in the industry is looking and saying ‘who is the best one to merge with if we need to?’”
Levy said that several interested parties have contacted them regarding a possible takeover, however does not expect to enter into a deal quickly, commenting that the bwin and PartyGaming merger took over a year to finalize.
